Mercy OB/GYN Partners is devoted to helping women lead healthier lives in each stage of life. Edgar A. Pou, M.D., Nelson R. Pou, M.D., Sarah Helm, D.O. and Kristin Shank, PA-C, are trained in gynecology and obstetrics and provide continuing preventative care and treatment.

Edgar A. Pou, M.D.
Dr. Edgar Pou attended the Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico, where he received his medical degree and completed his OB/GYN residency. Dr. Pou’s special interests are laser medicine and aesthetics medicine (invasive and non invasive).
Nelson R. Pou, M.D.
Dr. Nelson Pou attended the Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico, where he received his medical degree and completed his OB/GYN residency. Dr. Pou is a frequent lecturer to both patients and physician groups. He has a strong background in teaching students, interns and residents on various medical topics.
Both physicians are bilingual, English and Spanish.

Sarah Helm, DO
Dr. Helm attended DeMoines University Medical Center in Iowa. She completed her residency at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, Michigan. Dr. Helm’s special interests include menopausal issues and high-risk obstetrics.
Kristin Shank, PA-C
Kristin graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology. She continued her education, completing her Masters Degree at Western Michigan University's Physician Assistant Program.

Kristin is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and the State of Michigan.

She has been providing women's health services in a variety of settings over the past six years. She has spent the last few years providing services to patients in the Cadillac and surrounding areas.
